Privacy Policy

The short version: chats are not recorded, an account is optional, and we collect as little as running the service allows. The rest of this page is the detail behind those three sentences.

Effective

What this covers

This policy covers foxvideochat — the website, the matching, and the chats that happen through it. It explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

It does not cover other companies. If you follow a link away from here, or sign in through a third party, that service has its own policy and we do not control it.

What we collect

Two kinds: what you hand over, and what arrives automatically because you loaded a web page.

What you give us
Anything you choose to type or say, and — if you create an account or buy something — the details that requires. You can use the site without an account, and most people do.
Device and log data
Browser type, operating system, approximate region, and the ordinary server logs any website produces. This is how the video connection gets set up and how abuse gets traced after a report.
Usage data
Which pages loaded, roughly when, and how long a session lasted. Used in aggregate to see what is broken and what is used.

We do not ask for your real name, your address, or your phone number to start a chat. Nothing about a match requires them.

The video itself

A chat is live. We do not record it, we do not store it, and there is nothing for you or anyone else to play back afterwards.

What we cannot control is the other person's device. Screen recorders exist on every platform ever made, and no site can disable them. Treat a camera the way you would treat an open window: show what you are comfortable with a stranger seeing, and nothing else.

What we do with it

  • Run the service — match you with someone, open the connection, keep it stable.
  • Keep it safe — investigate reports, enforce the rules, block people who break them.
  • Fix it — find errors, understand what is slow, decide what to build next.
  • Meet legal obligations where they apply.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not hand it to advertisers to build a profile of you.

When information leaves us

Service providers
Companies that host the servers and move the video. They act on our instructions and may only use the data to do that job.
Legal requests
Where the law requires it, or where it is needed to investigate serious abuse or protect someone.
Business changes
If the service is ever transferred to another company, the data moves with it under this policy.

That is the whole list. There is no fourth category.

How long anything is kept

Only as long as it is doing a job. A live chat leaves nothing behind when it ends. Logs and report records are kept while they are still useful for safety and for meeting legal obligations, then removed.

If you created an account and delete it, associated data is removed except where we are required to keep something — for example a record of an enforcement action, which exists precisely so a removed user cannot simply return.

What you can ask for

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop a particular use of it.

Ask by writing to [email protected]. Say clearly what you want done. Because chats here are anonymous by default, there is often very little tied to you in the first place — which is usually the fastest answer we can give.

Age

foxvideochat is for adults. Nobody under 18 may use it, and we do not knowingly collect anything from anyone under 18. If we learn that an underage person is using the service, the account and its data are removed. More on how this is enforced is in child safety.

Security, honestly stated

Connections are encrypted in transit and access to systems is restricted to the people who need it. That is the ordinary standard and we meet it.

No service can promise perfect security, and any site that does is telling you something it cannot back. What we can promise is that we hold as little as possible in the first place — the strongest protection for data is not having collected it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes with it. Continuing to use the service after that means the updated version applies.

If something here is unclear, that is a fault in the writing rather than something you should have to decode. Write in and we will explain it plainly.
